Starmount Solutions Limited ("Starmount", "we", "us", or "our") is a company registered in Kenya and an authorized distributor of networking, VoIP, fiber-optic, CCTV, and telecom equipment. Our website is starmount.co.ke.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, and your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

2. Information We Collect

a) Automatically via Google Analytics

When you browse our site, Google Analytics 4 automatically collects:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• General geographic location (country / city)
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Referring website (how you found us)
• Anonymised IP address

This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

b) Via Google Ads

If you reach our site through a Google advertisement, Google may place cookies that record the ad interaction. We use this data to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to serve relevant ads on Google's network. Google's advertising privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

c) Via WhatsApp Enquiries

When you click our "Enquire on WhatsApp" button, you are redirected to WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. WhatsApp then processes your phone number and message according to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy. We store only what you share with us in that conversation.

d) Via the Contact Form

If you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To understand how visitors use our website and improve it
• To respond to product enquiries sent via WhatsApp or the contact form
• To measure the performance of our Google Ads campaigns
• To serve relevant advertisements to users who have previously visited our site
• To comply with legal obligations under Kenyan law

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and out of personalised Google Ads via Google's Ad Settings. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings menu.

5. Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (our default setting). WhatsApp conversation data is kept as long as necessary to fulfil your enquiry and thereafter for up to 2 years for business records. Contact form submissions are retained for 1 year.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Google Analytics & Google Ads (Google LLC, USA) — website analytics and advertising
• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, USA) — customer enquiries
• Firebase / Google Cloud — website hosting and database

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and may transfer data outside Kenya. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for such transfers.

7. Your Rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request erasure of your data where there is no lawful basis to retain it
• Object to processing of your data for direct marketing
• Withdraw any consent you have given at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC)

8. Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for business and professional use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.
